Our stylist conducted a simple experiment: to see if using a silk pillowcase for three months would benefit the health of your hair. The results were compelling. Our stylist felt a noticeable difference to their hair after committing to this new habit. They recognized their hair was breaking less and that the hair was less susceptible to thinning.
Our hair, skin and whole body is constantly moving during the night. Friction against cotton and other static materials aggravate follicles when we sleep. By comparison to cotton, a silk pillowcase means the hair is less likely to break and will allow for thicker hair with less frizz and split ends.
What else can you do?
- Don’t sleep with wet hair. Damp hair is more vulnerable to breakage than dry hair
- A loose braid will minimize broken ends
What if you already have broken ends?
- We recommend treating them with Schwarzkopf Professional Sealed Ends as part of your wash routine.
Have you noticed a difference after making the swap? We would be interested to hear from you.
